Understanding your expectations and requirements is the vital first step – an opportunity to establish the basics and highlight possibilities that you may not have considered. We personally inspect literally hundreds of yachts every year, so can suggest features that will enhance your yacht and experience on board while also helping you to steer clear of those that may negatively affect its future resale value.

Once your requirements have been clearly established, we will introduce you to the yacht designers and naval architects that we consider to be the best fit for your project. Christie Yachts coordinates the preliminary design, deck plans and specification for the tender package, bringing in appropriate technical specialists as required.

Christie Yachts acts for you throughout the tendering process, including recommending the most suitable shipyards, negotiating contractual terms, specifications and, most importantly, the price. By ensuring that the contract specification includes all items that you and your crew will need, we can limit costly change orders during the construction process and achieve a far superior end product.

With a yard appointed, we put together an appropriate ‘build team’ of technical supervisors, build captain and an engineer for the construction. We will also attend meetings and inspections to monitor progress, ensuring that the shipyard delivers the design, quality and specification as contracted. Finally, once your yacht is delivered, we ensure that the yard meets its warranty obligations.

With delivery in sight, Christie Yachts will coordinate everything you will need to ensure your journey into yacht ownership is seamless and easy. That will include bringing together operational and charter management where required, as well as assisting with establishing a crew.
