The big sister to the S501, the S502 superyacht from Italian shipyard Tankoa builds on the foundation of her predecessor’s 49.8 metre platform, extending in length to 52 metres.
Unveiled at the 2025 Palm Beach International Boat Show, the S520 features a gun-metal grey aluminium hull and superstructure, with a beam of 8.94 metres, a draught of 2.25 metres, and an internal volume of 499GT. The exterior and interior design are by Francesco Paszkowski Design and Margherita Casprini, respectively, whose collaboration resulted in a superyacht that balances a distinctly sporty profile with a refined, timeless interior. The silhouette of the S520 is easily recognisable, with lines that slope progressively downward from stern to bow and distinctive wheelhouse glazing that sets her apart from the S501. The main deck aft arrangement remains one of the most considered features of the S520, with the alfresco dining, pool lounge, and beach club connected across two levels and twin side terraces opening on each side to connect to the surroundings. A repositioned staircase to portside enlarges the upper deck aft for entertainment, whilst the upper deck forward is dedicated entirely to tender and toy storage. The extended, widened sundeck features an infinity pool forward alongside generous, uninterrupted relaxation areas aft. Inside, the interior design incorporates rounded forms and overlapping panels, with higher ceilings and larger windows than the S501, increasing the sense of volume throughout. The S520 can accommodate up to 12 guests across five ensuite staterooms, including the owner’s suite forward on the main deck with a dedicated study, walk-in wardrobe, and vanity. Powered by twin diesel engines, the S520 has a top speed of 16 knots.
