The Sanlorenzo SD118 is the third addition to the Italian shipyard’s acclaimed semi-displacement SD range.
Making her debut at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, the SD118 features a classic, traditional yet contemporary exterior styling by Bernardo Zuccon and modern interiors by Patricia Urquiola. The 35.75-metre SD118 seeks to redefine onboard liveability through its innovative asymmetric design, a layout concept rarely seen on yachts of her class, which gives her an impressive internal volume of 260GT. Her GRP construction and semi-displacement hull configuration provide exceptional structural integrity and seakeeping capabilities, whilst the asymmetric layout maximises internal living space through a distinctive widebody design on the upper deck. The SD118’s exterior design demonstrates Zuccon’s mastery of contemporary yacht architecture, featuring classic transatlantic liner-inspired proportions with an almost-vertical bow configuration. The interior spaces are characterised by their fluidity, which defines different functions and creates continuity between the decks, with Urquiola’s design philosophy emphasising soft, sinuous environments. The main focal point of the SD118 remains the innovative asymmetrical upper deck configuration that moves the skylounge to starboard whilst maintaining a full-length port walkway, creating enhanced spatial volumes and direct water views from both sides. The bow outdoor living area is stretched across two connected levels, the upper deck and the forward main deck, that form a very large area for relaxation in the open air to which the owner has direct access from the owner’s suite by means of a sliding hatch concealed beneath the connecting staircase. Another main feature is the expansive 19-square-metre swim platform that transforms when anchored, with lateral hatches providing direct water access. The SD118 can welcome up to ten guests across five ensuite staterooms, including the owner’s suite on the main deck, plus four additional guest staterooms on the lower deck. The crew quarters can accommodate five staff members, offering high service standards. Powered by twin engines offering either MAN 1,450hp or CAT 1,622hp configurations, the SD118 has a maximum speed of 19 knots with a cruising speed of 15 knots, with a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
