Based out of Mondolfo, Italy, Pershing Yachts specialises in the construction of high-performance fibreglass composite yachts and aluminium superyachts ranging from 16.5 to 53 metres in length
Establishing itself as one of the leading builders of sports yachts that prioritise speed without compromising luxury, the brand’s “Pershing Thrill” tagline speaks to owners looking to pilot their own yacht. Founded in 1981 by Italian entrepreneurs Tilli Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti and Giuliano Onori as Cantiere Navale dell’Adriatico, the shipyard launched its debut Pershing 45 model in 1985, the result of a collaboration with designer Fulvio De Simoni. Named after the Pershing missile to emphasise its velocity-focused philosophy, the yard swiftly garnered global recognition within the performance yacht segment. Acquired by the Ferretti Group in 1998, the acquisition bolstered Pershing’s production and R&D capabilities whilst preserving its brand’s distinctive identity. Throughout the years, Pershing’s design philosophy has focused on combining racing powerboat acceleration with the refinement of traditional motor yachts, establishing its reputation for aerodynamic exterior profiles paired with advanced propulsion systems. Pershing has maintained continuity over the years by retaining De Simoni as chief designer, leading to aesthetic consistency across four decades of production. Outside of new builds, the shipyard provides maintenance services and customer care through authorised service points worldwide. Pershing’s current fleet comprises two primary collections: the X Series, which features open sports yachts from the 5X through 8X models, and the GTX range, which encompasses sport utility vessels including the GTX70, GTX80 and flagship GTX116. The 35.24-metre GTX116 has a top speed of 34 knots through triple MAN diesel engines, whilst the 43.3-metre Pershing 140, launched in 2019 as the yard’s inaugural aluminium superyacht, reaches nearly 40 knots despite its substantial dimensions. The recently announced 52-metre Pershing 170 further extends the builder’s superyacht ambitions.
