With the first hull in the series introduced in 2017, the Heesen 50m Aluminium series saw the Dutch shipyard introduce one of the most efficient hulls in the 500 GT range.
Measuring 49.8 metres in length, with a beam of 9.1 metres and a draught of 2.15 metres, she features Heesen’s innovative and super-efficient aluminium Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Her exterior design, penned by Omega Architects, features a striking near-vertical bow and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, while the interior, designed by Cristiano Gatto, offers contemporary elegance and maximises natural light. Available with the yard’s advanced hybrid propulsion system, she can silently cruise while offering maximum energy efficiency. Key features onboard the 50m Aluminium FDHF series include expansive lounging areas on the sun deck and forward and aft main decks, which combined provide the same amount of social space as a 60-metre superyacht. The use of mirrors and glass throughout her interiors creates an open, airy atmosphere, ideal for living out on the open waters. Her interior layout includes a full-beam owner’s ensuite stateroom forward on the main deck, a full-beam VIP stateroom, two double guest staterooms, and two twin guest staterooms on the lower deck, accommodating up to 12 guests. Powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M61 engines, the 50m Aluminium FDHF series has a top speed of 16.3 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. At 12 knots, she consumes just 98 litres of fuel per hour, excluding hotel load, and in hybrid mode at 10 knots, fuel consumption falls to just 45 litres per hour.
