Designing every single one of its superyachts from scratch, no two Feadship superyachts are alike. The shipyard works with an exterior and interior designer of the client’s choice and its in-house team of engineers, naval architects, and more to bring their vision to life. The first 70-metre custom superyacht built by Feadship is Joy, delivered to her original owners in 2016. The first Feadship to feature an exterior design from Bannenberg & Rowell, and the first to have an interior design by British firm Studio Indigo, she features a beam of 11.5 metres and a draught of 3 metres, with an internal volume of 1,095 GT. Her exterior is defined by high bulwarks and a deck overhang that shelters the side decks, allowing a natural flow across the deck. The foredeck of Joy doubles as a basketball court, a badminton court, or can be used for open-air workouts. One of the central focal points remains her manually operated cantilevered staircase, which winds around the lift shaft, complete with eglomise panels and oak marquetry. Other standout features include a glass-walled bridge-deck gym and wellness area, a sundeck pool reached by twin forward stairs, a transom-door beach club and a cinema. As all Feadships can be completely customised, clients can choose their own general arrangements, interior finishes and amenities. Most custom Feadships 70 metres and up can accommodate between 12 and 14 guests across six to eight ensuite staterooms, including sweeping owner’s suites or dedicated owner apartments on the main or upper deck, with quarters for a crew of 17 and up. Engine power differs per project, with many owners opting for hybrid propulsion, giving Feadship custom 70 metres and up different top speeds.
