Part of Damen Yachting’s popular range of explorer superyachts, the Damen Xplorer 58 is designed to push the boundaries of conventional cruising. Formerly known as SeaXplorer, the Xplorer 58 was built on speculation and sold during construction, receiving “considerable” design input from her owner.
Measuring 58 metres in length, with a beam of 11.00 metres and a draught of 3.60 metres, her design combines robust construction with advanced technology and refined aesthetics. Complete with an ice-class hull, her masculine exterior styling is the work of Azure Yacht Design, with input from design partner EYOS Expeditions, while her interiors, inspired by the 1982 film Fitzcarraldo, were created by Design Unlimited. As at home in both tropical and polar regions, she was customised to her owner’s vision of sociable, long-term cruising. Designed for adventure, the Xplorere 58 carries an impressive arsenal of exploration toys, from two versatile tenders and a custom 11.4-metre high-performance sailboat to motorcycles and vehicles built for both on- and off-road terrain. A standout feature of the Xplorer 58 is the multifunctional Tahiti Plage—a hybrid aft deck that doubles as a social hub and storage area, complete with a central bar, infinity-edged pool, and fold-down sea-view balconies. Ingeniously designed gantry cranes allow for tender storage or can be used to suspend swing chairs above the water, while adjustable louvres provide customisable shade and ventilation. Other social spaces are thoughtfully curated through the Xplorer 58. The Fitzcarraldo Lounge features a handmade resin table and a rug depicting a steamboat journey, while the Amazonas Bar on the top deck offers a barbecue grill, alfresco dining, and a Jacuzzi with panoramic views. The Havana Lounge serves as a dedicated cigar bar, leading to a shaded deck area. The main deck houses five uniquely themed guest cabins, each adorned with custom elements such as bespoke wallpapers and stone finishes. The owner’s suite includes a private lounge and a siesta room. Able to accommodate up to 12 guests in six ensuite staterooms, the Xplorer 58 can also house a crew of 15 along with two expedition staff. Powered by twin 1,491 kw MTU engines, she has a top speed of 14.5 knots and a cruising speed of 11.5 knots with a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 11.5 knots.
