A rather groundbreaking 70-metre concept, it was developed by Fulvio Codecasa, founder of the Viareggio-based Codecasa shipyard, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed designer Tommaso Spadolini. Measuring 70 metres in length with a beam of 12 metres and 3.5-metre draught, the Codecasa Jet 2020 features a bold reinterpretation of aeronautical styling principles applied to superyacht design, creating an entirely unprecedented silhouette that merges sea and sky design philosophies. The Jet 2020’s distinctive exterior design includes clean, minimal lines and an aircraft-like profile that fundamentally breaks from conventional motor yachts. The forward section recalls an aeroplane cockpit with its solid, rounded form, transitioning into a central fuselage-inspired body that culminates in a spectacular sun deck measuring 6 metres by 2 metres. The elevated platform houses a recessed swimming pool alongside expansive sunbathing areas and a covered gymnasium positioned behind the wheelhouse. However, the most striking feature of the Codecasa Jet 2020 remains the towering vertical stern section, reminiscent of an aircraft tail, which accommodates state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems whilst creating her unmistakable identity. The innovative two-level owner’s suite occupies the aft section, providing privacy and panoramic sea views across dual floors. The beach club at the waterline level connects via lift to the main salon and dining areas. Able to accommodate up to 14 guests across six beautifully appointed staterooms in addition to the owner’s suite, the dedicated crew quarters can house 11 members. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3512E diesel engines, the Codecasa Jet 2020 has a top speed of 17 knots with a transoceanic range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
