Codecasa, based in Viareggio, Italy, is one of the world’s oldest family-owned superyacht builders, specialising in the construction of fully custom steel and aluminium motor yachts ranging from 30 to 70 metres in length.
Founded in 1902 by shipwright Giovanni Battista Codecasa, the shipyard first began as a small workshop building sailing boats, fishing ships and military crafts before entering the motor yacht sector in 1973. Under the guidance and leadership of Fulvio Codecasa, the shipyard underwent significant expansion throughout the 1970s and 1980s, establishing Cantieri Navali Ugo Codecasa in 1977, converting the original facility to Codecasa Due in 1982, and opening Codecasa Tre in 1987. Today, more than a century after its founding, Codecasa remains under family ownership with Fulvio Codecasa at the helm, supported by his daughters Fulvia and Elena and their children, continuing the family’s shipbuilding legacy. Today, the shipyard operates three state-of-the-art facilities across Viareggio and Pisa, covering over 14,000 square metres of covered production space. Codecasa’s current portfolio includes the acclaimed Framura series, which began in 2004 with a 35-metre sports yacht and has evolved to include the 50-metre Framura 3 (2013) and the award-winning 55-metre Framura (2020). Notable models in the Codecasa fleet include the 65-metre Double Down, 65-metre Apogee, 65-metre Eternity, 61-metre Esmeralda, and 42-metre Aldebaran Primo. Codecasa also offers refit and maintenance services, leveraging their extensive experience and in-house technical capabilities to support owners and their yachts.
