The award-winning expedition yacht, the Canados Oceanic 143, is the flagship model of the Italian shipyard’s Oceanic range.
Measuring 43.45 metres in length with an 8.22-metre beam and a remarkably shallow 2.1-metre draught, this semi-displacement superyacht garnered immediate international recognition by winning the ‘Best Naval Architecture – Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts’ award at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards 2024. Offering a new approach to the fundamentals of modern hull architecture, she features naval architecture by Arrabito Nabal Architects, with an exterior design by Canados and elegant interior styling by renowned Italian designer Michela Reverberi. The Oceanic 143’s revolutionary hull design distinguishes her from conventional expedition yachts thanks to its pioneering planning bulb, twin-stepped and keeled configuration with tunnel drives, a new approach that enables smooth transitions between displacement cruising and planing speeds up to 26 knots. Her exterior design maximises extended outdoor living spaces whilst maintaining the robust functionality essential for oceanic exploration. Key features onboard the Canados Oceanic 143 include 130 square metres of aft deck space across five different social areas and the biggest dining table on a yacht in her size range. The sundeck is home to an oversized hammam for six adults, a bar, sofas and loungers, while the owner’s dedicated deck offers a sweeping owner’s suite and two private terraces. The main deck aft houses a dedicated lounge area and plunge pool, with direct access to the beach club and tender garage, complete with substantial tenders and water toys. Able to accommodate ten guests across five appointed ensuite staterooms, including two double and two twin ensuite staterooms on the lower deck next to the owner’s suite. Powered by triple caterpillar C32 B diesel engines generating 2,400 horsepower each, the Oceanic 143 has a maximum speed of 24 knots, with an economical cruising speed of 19 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles.
