Founded in 1854 by Pietro Baglietto in Varazze, the shipyard originally started out building small boats and racing sailboats before expanding into constructing military vessels and yachts. Playing a pivotal role in shipbuilding during both World Wars, Baglietto constructed fast patrol boats and hydrofoils before shifting to building pleasure boats post-war. In the 1950s, Baglietto began building high-performance yachts for elite clients like the Aga Khan and Prince Rainier of Monaco, with the 22m Maiorca from its Isola series lifting the shipyard to world fame. Acquired by the Gavio Group in 2012, Baglietto continues to blend its rich heritage with modern innovation, offering a wide range of highly customisable yachts. With a strong brand DNA rooted in Italian excellence, Baglietto is best known today for its sleek designs, with elegant lines and impeccable craftsmanship. The yard’s current series includes the Fast Line, known for high-speed planing yachts; the XO series, designed for adventurous, long-range cruising; the T Line of displacement yachts, focusing on luxury and comfort; and the Dom Line, with military-inspired designs. Baglietto is poised for significant expansion in the military sector under the Baglietto Navy brand.
