First unveiled by Azimut Yachts in 2020, the Magellano 30 Metri is the series flagship from the Magellano line of crossover yachts launched in 2009.
Bringing together again Ken Freivokh and Vincenzo De Cotiis once more, who designed the exterior and interior design respectively of the Magellano 25m, the Magelleano encapsulates the same contemporary take on the traditional trawler. Measuring 29.7 metres in length, with a beam of 7.06 metres and a draught of 2.05 metres, the Magellano 30m features an open layout with advanced features. Her exterior design features high bulwarks, imposing hull sides and protected walkways providing enhanced safety when cruising. Key design features onboard the Magellano 30m include her ‘Dual Mode’ hull, which enhances fuel efficiency, offering up to 15 percent less fuel used than conventional semi-planing modes, her vertical bow and extensive glazed surfaces across her superstructure, allowing natural light to flood into her interiors. The latter is particularly evident inside the main salon, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic 270-degree views and filling the space with natural light. Able to accommodate up to ten guests across five ensuite staterooms, this includes a well-appointed owner’s suite on the main deck, two double VIP ensuite staterooms, and two configurable ensuite staterooms on the lower deck. Powered by twin MAN V12 engines, available in 1,550 hp or 1,900 hp configurations, the Magellano 30m has a top speed of up to 24 knots and a cruising speed of 16 to 18 knots, depending on the selected engine option. In addition, an optional ‘Hotel Mode’ allows her to operate at anchor for up to eight hours in complete silence, with onboard systems powered by batteries instead of generators, significantly reducing noise and emissions.
Innovative Heritage: Azimut was among the first shipyards to introduce large frameless windows, enhancing natural light and providing panoramic views, a feature that has become a hallmark of modern yacht design.
Cutting-Edge Materials: The shipyard was among the first to utilise fibreglass for mass production, notably with the AZ 43′ Bali, revolutionising yacht construction.
Sustainability Initiatives: The Seadeck series incorporates hybrid propulsion and more eco-friendly materials, highlighting the yard’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
Legacy & Forward Thinking: From its origins as a boat chartering service, Azimut’s strategic acquisition of Benetti and its continuous innovation, the shipyard has always struck a balance between tradition and an eye toward future growth.
