Making her world debut at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival, the Arcadia Sherpa 80 XL is the flagship model and big sister to the Sherpa 60 in the Italian shipyard’s semi-displacement superyacht pocket range.
Measuring 23.98 metres in length with a 6.98-metre beam and 1.45-metre draught, her exterior and interior design are the work of Milanese studio Hot Lab, with naval architecture by Arcadia’s in-house team. Built from GRP with an aluminium superstructure, the Sherpa 80 XL is unique in her class due to her extensive solar panel integration, providing up to 3kW of solar energy, and 221 square metres of usable living space that defies conventional size standards. The Sherpa 80 XL’s exterior profile encompasses a distinctive high, snub bow with tugboat-style bulwarks transitioning into an expansive open aft section, creating an explorer-inspired aesthetic. Her interior spaces prioritise natural illumination through floor-to-ceiling glazing, whilst employing a refined material palette with sophisticated furniture pieces in minimal, geometric forms that maximise spatial perception. The layout centres around an extraordinary 65-square-metre aft cockpit with a hydraulic swim platform, U-shaped lounging zones, and alfresco dining for eight, which directly connects to the main salon via retractable glazing. The skylounge features Arcadia’s signature solar panel ceiling providing sustainable power, whilst the raised sun deck offers elevated vantage points with bimini shading. The Sherpa 80 XL can accommodate up to eight guests across four ensuite staterooms on the lower deck, including a 25-square-metre owner’s suite amidships with a dual-glass-door bathroom, a forward VIP stateroom, and two twin staterooms, with separate crew accommodation for two forward. The Sherpa 80 XL is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines, with a top speed of 23 knots, a cruising speed of 18 knots and a range of 1,200 nautical miles at 10 knots.
